Professor Robins received his doctorate in economics in 1982 from the University of California at San Diego. He joined the Freeman School of Business in 1989. From 1995 to 1999 he served as Faculty Director and Associate Dean of Academic Programs. Robins currently serves as Associate Dean and Director of the Stewart Center for Executive Education.
Prior to his appointment at the business school, he was a senior econometrician at Transworld Oil Ltd., in Hamilton, Bermuda. He also worked as an economist with Data Resources in Lexington, Massachusetts, and as a senior econometrician with Shearson Lehman/American Express in New York.
Robins' primary research interests are in financial economics, applied econometrics, and forecasting. His research has been published in a number of leading journals including Econometrica, Management Science, and the Review of Economics and Statistics.
