Professor Tsai's research interests include quantitative marketing, advertising, consumer search, and more generally, empirical industrial organization across a variety of sectors, including hospitality, and auto insurance industry. His work has been published in the Journal of Marketing Research and Energy Policy. Before joining Tulane University, he has worked at AIG and taught marketing research at the University of Delaware.
