Professor Amjad Ayoubi is the Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education. In this role, he oversees academic advising for undergraduates, providing career advising, academic support services, and success coaching. He also teaches classes in the Freeman School.

After Hurricane Katrina, Professor Ayoubi played a major role in rebuilding Career Services, and his work has contributed to the outreach and career placement of many Tulane gradates, who go on to contribute to the New Orleans community.

Professor Ayoubi teaches BTIDE and a freshman business course.

Rebuilding Career Services
After Katrina, Professor Ayoubi played an integral role in building up Tulane’s Career Services. Now, his role includes providing inspiration, leadership and strategic direction for the newly merged departments of Career Services and Student Employment – all of which help Freeman students connect with influential networks.

Contributions to Student Success
By working with students to develop goals for their careers and lives, Professor Ayoubi strives to enable students to explore various areas of study and formulate plans for the future. Through both the classes he teaches and his work with Career Services, he has helped boost student retention and connect students with their next steps after their time with Freeman.

Community Outreach
Professor Ayoubi sees his work with Tulane students as deeply connected to the health of New Orleans as a whole. He has a long background of taking on community service roles, including serving on the Board of Directors for United Way in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and on the Board of Advisors for the Youth Philanthropy Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Memorable Moment

Professor Ayoubi finds it rewarding to see how Tulane has been able to grow and develop in the last 10 years since he joined the faculty – especially the major impact that the university has had on the city through public service and through the work of students who decide to stay after graduation and contribute to NOLA’s development.
